Ryan Sweeney is a member of the Arizona litigation team at Welsh, Wales & Fry, PLC, focused on addressing liability and supporting clients engaged in building a sustainable and secure future. A seasoned attorney with more than six years of experience managing large litigation and transactional caseloads, Mr. Sweeney has represented contractors, businesses, insurance carriers, and property owners in tort and contract litigation arising in construction defect, personal injury, products liability, and professional liability, as well as general insurance defense and coverage matters.

In addition to litigation, Mr. Sweeney has extensive experience drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a range of contracts, agreements, and transfers related to land use and commercial and residential construction. Before joining the firm, Mr. Sweeney worked for the federal government, specializing in administrative law and public benefits.

Mr. Sweeney also has expertise in environmental and energy law. He is proficient in providing legal advice related to environmental regulatory compliance and risk management, and in performing due diligence in land use matters. Recognizing the importance of mitigating climate change and the necessary transition to renewable energy, he recently earned his Master's degree in environmental, natural resources, and energy law from the esteemed Northwestern School of Law at Lewis & Clark College. Mr. Sweeney has published articles on federal administrative law, federal land use policy and mining leases, renewable energy, and carbon capture and storage (CCS) and other forms of carbon dioxide removal.
